Message from the founder, Carol Brozosky

When I was young, we camped around the country.  And my mom’s mantra before we left the campsite – “always leave the place better than when you found it.”

These early life experiences led me to embrace nature, and despise the messes created by humans.     It led me through a long career in environmental compliance.  It gave me the passion to teach children about Earth Day, and encourage protection of planet Earth.

I am a professed tree hugger.  I love being outdoors.   And I am so fortunate to live in an area of southern New Jersey that has some woods nearby.

Jacob’s Ladder symbolizes our need to climb up and away from the barriers that prevent us from connecting with Creation.

Whether you are seeking a Nature experience for children, a venue for your social gathering, meeting spot, group field trip, or a meditative place to be with your friends and family, we have the venue for you.

As a non profit charity, we offer our space for a nominal fee to those groups in need, so we are actively seek out those groups that may benefit. Contact us!

Or please donate to make this happen for those in need.

Humans need to experience creation, not just for leisure, but for their health and the health of the planet.

Phase One

Jacob’s Ladder Homeschool Nature Center, commenced in the Spring of 2025.  The base camp is situated in a picturesque forest outside of Mullica Hill, NJ.  It serves to augment what parents/caregivers already provide for their home schooling children. We also have a program for preschoolers!

The premise is to encourage child-led education, hands on problem solving, and freedom to explore nature with their peers.

Phase Two

Phase Two  Jacob’s Ladder Retreat Center will begin to allow patrons of all ages the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors.  Children fun days will be scheduled to allow them an unstructured setting to play, climb, collect, dig in the dirt and explore.  The venue has marked trails for children and adults alike to wander in a safe and healthy setting.  Why settle for an indoor meeting when you can be outdoors? The focus is on nature.  The benefit is healing in the forest.

Now accepting reservations!

How can we expect humans to appreciate nature unless they experience it first hand?

Through Nature

“Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt.”
- John Muir
What was true in the days of John Muir, is so true today, especially with children. Here are a couple videos discussing children needing to move outdoors!
